The Dystonia Medical Research Foundation initially came to us to develop custom reports for their Cartthrob store implementation, and we stayed to help consult on their SEO problems, optimize templates to improve page load times, fix CSS issues, and add new features.
Ryan and the team were clearly interested in understanding our organization, asked smart questions, and delivered exactly what they promised. My only regret is that we didn’t find them sooner.
Custom Reporting. The DMRF needed custom order reporting to feed into their 3rd-party fundraising system, and off-the-shelf ExpressionEngine reporting add-ons were not going to cut it for them.
The level of detail and exception handling in the reports was also probably too much to handle for the previous developers, who left a half-finished report query and then gave up or went AWOL. We were able to complete the reports they needed, in the format necessary for import into their donor system, and we included the ability to filter the results by date.
Optimization, Version Control. We were able and willing to fix other obvious problems we came across as we worked on the reporting. One of the most obvious issues was that the site hadn't been developed with version control. The codebase is now in Git, and we are able to update the site efficiently.
We continue to work with the DMRF to fix other outstanding issues and add new functionality.
